New Zealand Ambassador to China Visits Wuhan Botanical Garden

Clare Fearnley,New Zealand Ambassador to China, accompanied with officials ofForeign Affairs Office of Hubei Provincial People’s Governmentvisited Wuhan Botanical Garden (WBG)On March 22.  

SHANG Naxin,the Secretary & Deputy-Director of WBG, welcomed the visitors on behalf ofWBGSheintroduced the history, main research fields, international cooperation, and science popularization & education, giving thevisitors an overall picture ofWBG. 

Dr. LI Dawei gave a talk of the origin, introduction and domestication of globalkiwifruit, and then introduced the cooperation with universitiesandresearch institutions of New Zealand. 

Clare Fearnleyheld talks with researchers. She was delighted by the cooperation achievements between China and New Zealandin the area of education and research, hoping to deepen cooperation in communication platform construction, personnel and technological exchange with WBG within the framework ofChina- New Zealand bilateral cooperation, so as to carry forward the friendship andlook for cooperation opportunities in the future. 

The delegation alsovisited the National Actinidia Germplasm Repository.
