New Zealand Ambassador to China Visits Wuhan Botanical Garden

Clare Fearnley, New Zealand Ambassador to China, accompanied with officials of Foreign Affairs Office of Hubei Provincial People’s Government visited Wuhan Botanical Garden (WBG) On March 22.  

SHANG Naxin, the Secretary & Deputy-Director of WBG, welcomed the visitors on behalf of WBGShe introduced the history, main research fields, international cooperation, and science popularization & education, giving the visitors an overall picture of WBG. 

Dr. LI Dawei gave a talk of the origin, introduction and domestication of global kiwifruit, and then introduced the cooperation with universities and research institutions of New Zealand. 

Clare Fearnley held talks with researchers. She was delighted by the cooperation achievements between China and New Zealand in the area of education and research, hoping to deepen cooperation in communication platform construction, personnel and technological exchange with WBG within the framework of China- New Zealand bilateral cooperation, so as to carry forward the friendship and look for cooperation opportunities in the future. 

The delegation also visited the National Actinidia Germplasm Repository.
